Integration before automation

Before you automate a process, make sure your tools can talk to each other. Automation built on top of disconnected systems breaks quietly, and nobody notices until a customer does.
The copy-paste problem. Most small businesses run five or more software tools: a CRM, an accounting package, email marketing, an online store, a calendar. When these don’t connect, someone copies data between them by hand. That takes time, and every copy is a chance for a mistake.
Why integration comes first. Automation depends on accurate data moving reliably. If an order reaches the store but not the accounts, an automated invoice reminder will chase the wrong person. Connect the systems first, then automate on top.
What we have learned building connectors. We have been building SaaS integrations since 2011, starting with links between Zoho CRM and accounting, email marketing and e-commerce tools. The lesson has stayed the same: the connection is the easy part. The hard part is agreeing which system owns each piece of data, and what happens when a sync fails.
Questions to ask before you connect anything:
- Which system is the master for customer details?
- What happens when the same record changes in two places?
- Who is alerted when a sync fails, and how quickly do they respond?
Our KloudConnectors platform connects many of the SaaS tools small businesses use. Where a platform connection suits your stack, we use it. Where it doesn’t, we say so, and we build what fits.
